Alfalfa hay or not? That is the question.

Barn Rules:
- NO SMOKING! Anywhere on the property.
- Facility is open for use from 8 am till 10 pm 7 days a week. Special events may limit use to certain areas.
- While other people are using the indoor arena at the same time as you.
- As a courtesy to others. Please do not do Liberty (horse offline) exercises unless you divide the arena in half with the rope barrier or you have permision from others.
- If you have multiple horses and want each of them in the arena with you at the same time please tie your one horse up with the provided tie rings in the arena while you are interacting with the other one ie. one horse per person at a time.
- Please do not drive and park on grassy areas or areas without gravel. Espcially when the ground is wet.
- When outdoors and soil conditions are wet, avoid doing trailer loading exercises or exercises where your horse will make sudden movements so as to keep the ground from getting torn up with divits.
- Please exercise or graze your horses in approved areas. See attached for areas that are off limits. AAcresOffLimits.jpg
- When wind speeds are in excess of 20 mph either keep the sliding door into the CoverAll arena and the overhead garage door both open or both closed. Close both doors when you leave for the day if you are the last visitor. If you do open the overhead garage door make sure the lock is fully open so it doesn't jam against the rails of the door.
- If you are the only person left shut the aisle gate, tack room, and sliding door when you leave for the day or plan on leaving the arena for longer than 15 minutes. We have a horse that likes to help himself to the grain.
- When shutting gates please check that the nail holding the latch is securely in both holes.
- Provided Treats and grain are available in the metal trash cans. Please only feed one coffee mug of grain to your horse each day. The provided grain is meant as a reward after you have interacted and schooled your horse, not before. If you wish to give your horse grain other times or before you play or work your horse please provide your own. Use common sense with the treats.
- It is preferred you do not feed hay or water your horse in the arena unless you are doing it for training or a medical situation. In any case please return buckets and feed bowls back where they came from before you leave for the day.
- Equipment / Tack
- Lead ropes, halters, cinches, bridles, bits, etc. hanging on the north tack room wall are the property of Andersen Acres. Keep your tack with your saddle or other predetermined location.
- Please mark your saddles and pads with your name. We can provide a labeler for you to use.
- It is expected that you provide your own equipment and tack. Andersen Acres equipment are meant for you to try and use before you get your own but please don't abuse this privilege.
- Do not use other peoples equipment without permission and please return equipment to where you got it from when done.
- Please provide your own fly spray, and grooming and medical supplies for your horse.
- If grooming in the indoor arena please pick up clumps of hair and dispose of outside or in a trash can.
- If horses get out don't panic. Just call or get us. The horses won't go far for home is here. You can try to get them back in as long as you don't hurt yourself or them.
- Use the bathroom in the house to relieve your self (now if we can get the horses to use it)
- Since the horses were raised in a barn please clean up after your horse before you leave for the day and throw out the manure into the paddock/pasture area. Not in tires.
- Because we can not be at all places on the property at all times cameras are set up for safety monitoring so that if one gets hurt we can get help sooner.
- You can use the phone except for international calls.
- Dogs are allowed on a conditional basis and must be leashed and put away when other clients are at the facility.
- If you want free wireless internet access while you are visiting Andersen Acres for you laptop or blackberry let us know and we'll set it up for you.
- Talk to us if you have a concern or suggestion. If we don't know about it we can't help. We want your's and your horse's stay an enjoyable and safe one.
- Ask questions. We are at your disposal.
